Page checks and monitoring: common questions
What does a page check tell me?
It reports observations about one public page, including performance, security headers, search metadata, image-alt attributes and technology signals. A finding helps you decide what to investigate. It is not a complete website audit, a penetration test or a guarantee that a page will rank.
What is the difference between a scan and monitoring?
A scan gives you a snapshot. Portfolio monitoring keeps observations for enrolled public pages so your team can review a change and recheck a correction. Marking a finding reviewed records attention; comparable new evidence is needed to verify recovery.
Can I try a check before creating an account?
Yes. The page checker can start without an account, subject to usage limits. A free account includes 3 scans per month and a place to return to your history. Paid subscriptions are separate choices; there is no automatic paid trial.
What happens if a check cannot finish?
An unavailable measurement is shown as incomplete. In portfolio review, the last reliable evidence stays visible and an unresolved finding is not marked fixed because a new observation failed.
Does PageVital certify accessibility or HIPAA compliance?
No. Automated checks can point to issues worth investigating. They do not prove legal compliance, what a form submitted, how a logged-in journey behaves, or how assistive technology works across a complete site.
